Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi is one of the poker players to make it to the final table of this year’s World Series Of Poker Main Event. That’s not at all surprising, considering where he comes from. After all, he has a lot of poker experience.

It’s In The Genes

Michael Mizrachi was born in Florida. His family, in Miami, included an older brother and a twin brother, as well as a younger brother. His twin brother Eric and his Older brother Robert both play poker, too. In fact, Robert has many WPT and WSOP finishes under his belt. Michael’s younger brother, Daniel, is not a pro poker player, but he does have a little bit of that Las Vegas magic in his blood. He’s a magician by trade. So, it’s clear that Michael has some serious genetics on his side, on top of his learned skills and, of course, a little bit of luck.

The 2010 WSOP

Some might say that Michael’s luck ran out a bit when he had a run in with the IRS at the start of 2010, but he didn’t let that stop him. Just weeks after that he won $1.5 million in the Player’s Championship. He followed that up with a sixth place finish in the Seven Card Stud World Championship, falling just short of earning his second World Series of Poker bracelet.

Now, Michael finds himself at the final table in the 2010 WSOP Main Event. It will all be decided in November. Although he had some big ups and downs in his tournament run, including a huge pot loss to Matt Affleck, Michael Mizrachi consistently shows that he can persevere in the face of adversity. Since he has the most experience of anyone at the final table, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
